Illustrator and author Monika Vaicenavičienė works on commercial as well as personal illustration projects and children's picture books.

At the World Illustration Awards 2018, Monika won the Overall New Talent Award among all illustration categories in addition to being the winner of the children's books category. Besides, Monika won the Publisher's Choice Award at Shanghai International Children's Book Fair 2018 and was recognised as Selected Illustrator at the Bologna Children's Book Fair 2018 as well as the Ilustrarte Biennale 2018. Monika's first two children's picture books won national contests in Lithuania for best illustrations. Her newest picture book about rivers "What is a River?" is to appear in 2019 with editions in many countries around the world.

Monika studied at the Vilnius Academy of Arts (BA Graphics, 2014) and as a visiting student at the Valand Academy of Arts in Gothenburg, University of the Arts London, and the Strzemiński Academy of Fine Arts Łódź. In 2017, she received Master of Fine Arts in Visual Communication at Konstfack University of Arts, Crafts and Design in Stockholm.

As an art director and contributing artist, Monika runs, an educational comics project about the streets of Vilnius, Lithuania, the city she is now based in.

Monika takes commissions, including illustrated storytelling projects, book illustration, album artwork, posters, custom animated or printed greetings, event identity and branding, educational visuals — but she is always open to discuss projects that do not fall into these categories!
