Illustrator and author Monika Vaicenavičienė works on commercial as well as personal illustration projects and children's picture books. She is now based in Vilnius, Lithuania.

At the World Illustration Awards 2018, Monika won the Overall New Talent Award among all illustration categories in addition to being the winner of the children's books category. Besides, Monika was recognised as Selected Illustrator at the Bologna Children's Book Fair 2018, Shanghai Children's Book Fair 2018, as well as the Ilustrarte Biennial 2018. Monika's first two children's picture books won national contests in Lithuania for best illustrations. Her newest picture book about rivers is to appear in 2019 with editions in many countries around the world.

Monika studied at the Vilnius Academy of Arts (BA Graphics, 2014) and as a visiting student at the Valand Academy of Arts in Gothenburg, University of the Arts London, and the Strzemiński Academy of Fine Arts Łódź. In 2017, she received Master of Fine Arts in Visual Communication at Konstfack University of Arts, Crafts and Design in Stockholm.

As an art director and contributing artist, Monika runs, an educational comics project about the streets of Vilnius.

Monika takes commissions on illustrated storytelling projects, event identity and branding, book illustration, album artwork, posters, custom animated or printed greetings, educational visuals – but she is always open to discuss projects that do not fall into these categories!
